Leather-working Gold Guide - Making gold farming Borean Leather

People usually stick to farming and selling newest trade goods. Sure, they sell almost instantly, but what about older trade goods? Borean Leather is an excellent example. No one farms it on my realm, but there's new leatherworkers every day that need it to level their profession. If they don't have skinning, they are usually ready to pay big to get past those levels!

Exotic Leather vs. Borean Leather

I have so many Spirits of Harmony that I chose to buy some  Exotic Leather and see how much gold there is to be made. I tried 5 stacks and they sold within 10 minutes. I managed to get 80 wow gold per stack, meaning I converted 5  Spirits of Harmony into 400 wow gold.

Not bad, but then I noticed the price of  Borean Leather. Almost 400 gold a stack instead. The next day it was 200 gold per stack, and then almost 300 gold on the third day. The price continued to stay above 200 gold. Sometimes it dropped way below 100g a stack, but there were never a lot of it available, so I just flipped them all. They didn't sell as fast as Exotic Leather, but the profit was huge.

And as a side note, there's many more items you can buy with Spirits of Harmony, and I may make a post of it's own at some point where I tell you how to turn them into most wow gold.

No skinning required

Farming Borean Leather is a lot easier and faster than Exotic Leather. There's also zero competition, so you get the best farming spots usually, despite CRZ.

However, because of no competition, you don't necessarily even need skinning. From my experience the borean leather that appears in auction house is just from someone leveling skinning past 350.

The price is often even lower than 20g a stack, so its a safe bet to buy them and add a zero to the price. They will sell for that amount, unless you get undercut.

Even today I've sold 9 stacks for 300 gold each so far, and there's no competition. Even if competition appears, I take care of it. Borean Leather is easy to monopolize and I recommend you to give it a try, unless someone else from your realm attempts to do the same.

To get most sales, It's a good idea to sell both stacks of 20 and 10. Perhaps 5 too.

Best way to farm Borean Leather

If you have skinning and are level 85+, I recommend you to solo farm this in the Oculus instance, in Borean Tundra. Just enter the instance and run past all the dragonkin until you arrive at the teleport orb. You can then aoe the mobs down easily, AOE loot them and give your skinning knife some work. A single run takes no more than a few minutes.

You can do this 5 times a hour, and then you've hit the instance cap. 5 runs usually equals in even 200 Borean Leather, or 2000 wow gold if you sell a stack for 200 wow gold.

Alchemy Gold Guide - Getting rich with Primal Might

I'm still often the only person on my realm selling these, even though they are needed by many people. One sells for even 800g if there is no one else selling and someone needs them desperately. There is definitely room for more Alchemists doing this!

The materials are often very expensive though, so sometimes it will be more profitable to sell them as they are. Lucky transmute procs are not guaranteed. Thankfully the materials are easy to obtain by farming them.

Profession needed: Alchemy

Primal Gold!

Before turning any primals into anything, you should check the material costs. They are TBC items so their prices vary between 20g-300g most of the time. If each of the lesser primals sell for 300g, you'll make more gold selling them instead. It would be wise to farm them yourself. One primal takes less than 3 minutes to obtain, so it won't take long to get them all.If you don't know where's the best place to farm them, check the previous Primal Might post.

Primal Might has simple material requirements:
  • 1 x Primal Earth
  • 1 x Primal Water
  • 1 x Primal Mana
  • 1 x Primal Air
  • 1 x Primal Fire
Remember that transmutation alchemists can get lucky procs and get even 5 items from one transmute.

Finding some recipes

If you don't have the recipe for Primal Might, you can buy it from Shattrath. The recipe is BOE and sells for 300+g in the auction house. It has a short restock timer on the vendor, so it's wise to buy 2 and sell the other one in the Auction House! And while in Shattrath, why not buy the schematic for white smoke flare also. It too sells for 300g often!

Farming Guide - Crocolisk Gold Farming

Farming Crocolisks for Gold

High level Mists of Pandaria Crocolisks offer 3 items that you should be interested in. Lower level crocolisks should be avoided. In this particular wow gold making tip we'll be focusing on the Coldbite Crocolisks in Dread Wastes. They're level 90, so make sure your toon is at the appropriate level.

wow gold guide
Coldbite Crocolisk
Location: Dread Wastes
Items you should expect to see:
  •  Raw Crocolisk Belly (60%)
  •  Mote of Harmony (8%)
  •  High Quality Crocolisk Leather (3%)
Your main income will be from Raw Crocolisk Belly. On my realm they have been selling for 10-40g each for several months now, so this gold making tip has stood very profitable. If the price ever drops below 20, I will just flip them without worrying, as no one really farms crocolisks.

wow gold
Dread Wastes

You'll also get a nice amount of Harmony Motes. You can use these for anything, like buying Crocolisk Bellies from a vendor in Halfhill Market, if you convert the Spirit of Harmony into a cooking reward and grab a bag of them. The average price for a belly is 30g on my realm, and 40g for a Golden Lotus, so it's more profitable for me to focus on bellies instead.

You'll also get a High Quality Crocolisk Leather by a low chance. It's vendor junk, but sells for 9 wow gold.

I wouldn't really use the bellies for anything. It's better off to just sell them as they are.

The mobs itself are very easy to kill if you have a decent ilvl and more importantly self heals, so you can tackle even 4 at once. Their respawn times are quite fast too, so you'll never have to wait around.

Oh noes! It's underwater!

Most of these Crocolisks are underwater, so there's no competition ever, unless someone is doing a non-daily quest. The pool is not deep though, so if you have ranged attacks, you don't really need to swim much.

To speed things up literally, I would recommend to choose  Speed King buff to help your watery grind with a double jump every 5 seconds.

You can also earn loads of gold by farming cataclysm crocolisks will tell you how to in the next guide.

Fishing Gold Guide - Best place to farm Deviate Fish

Some fishes are extremely valuable, especially the lower level ones that are needed by cooks and alchemists. Today's post focuses on the best of them,Deviate Fish. This one is mainly for horde lowbies. Alliance can make even more gold though, but a higher level toon is recommended.

Tested and approved by a poor, almost naked level 20 toon that went fishing for 1½ hours, and eventually sold the catch for 2490 gold, 30 silver and 73 coppers!(Talking about retail even x10 times in private servers) Also known as too much gold, unless you like saving or investing. & if you are using a fishbot the profit will be insane since the bot will fish for you as long as you want. My advice to you is to turn the fishbot on when you go to sleep & let it do it's work.

Deviate fish can be fished up in Barrens and Wailing Caverns. But to get the most fishes/hour, you should circle around the pools in Barrens and cast your line only if you see a Deviate Fish school. There's three pools of water in Northern Barrens and each can contain a few Deviate Fish schools.

You're usually the only one fishing these so there shouldn't be any competition except during peak hours, but even so, the schools respawn  fast and can make lots of gold for you in a very little time.

Flying mount is extremely helpful, but if you do this with a lowbie, the running cuts the profits a bit.

Still, you can get even 5000g in a few hours, or at least when they've all sold! Not many have gold for their epic flying mount at level 20(again retail), why not be one of the few! But to make them sell faster, you shouldn't focus on one product only.

Barrens being on horde territory, these should sell for even more on the Alliance side!

Cook it, Brew it and Sell it!

Once you have enough fishes, you've to decide what to do with them. If you have alchemy, it's very affordable to get the recipe for Giant Growth Elixir since Cataclysm. You'll most likely find several for as little as 2g in the Auction House.
One Giant Growth Elixir requires 1x Deviate Fish, 1x Earthroot and a vial surpisingly. I'm usually the only one selling these and I usually list them for 40-60g(retail price) in the auction house.

They sell surprisingly fast even though they are useless. Guess some people need more self-confidence, making things bigger and all!

Usually 5-15 elixirs sell every day, so I have plenty of Deviates for other uses also. Second best choice would be to sell them raw, let's say 35g each so people won't undercut you so much if they have alchemy aswell. If you have the cooking recipe for Savory Deviate Delight, last resort would be to create some of those. You often have competition here though, so the profit is minimal.

Making Loads of Gold from TBC Trade Goods (For Both Cata & Mop)

If you haven't noticed, most TBC trade goods prices are even more expensive than their Cataclysm equivalents, making them extremely good for gold making. It's often wise to farm the reagents yourself, because some Primals cost even 200g each, like Air and Water(Retail Prices sells for even more on private servers). But if the reagents sell for more than what the product itself does, assuming you are not the only one selling it, it's often a better idea to sell the reagents instead.

Alchemy and Primal Might
Requires Alchemy (350)

The recipe is almost as valuable as the Primal Might itself, but at least its easily obtained so you can learn it yourself and also grab a few that you will resell. It's sold by 3 vendors, click here to see which one is closest to you.

Reagents:
Primal Earth
Best place to farm: Auction House

Primal Water
Best place to farm: Terokkar Forest

Primal Air
Best place to farm: Shadowmoon Valley

Primal Fire
Best place to farm: Hellfire Peninsula

Primal Mana
Best place to farm: Blade's Edge Mountains

Farming Cataclysm Heroics for Gold Part 3 - Lost City of Tol'vir (For MOP & CATA )

The instance is easy and requires no tactics at all. But if you pull too much at a time, you can easily get killed because some of the mobs here hit like a truck still.

This instance is fun because it contains lots of humanoid mobs. They always drop valuable cloth, especially in Cataclysm dungeons. Embersilk Cloth is the cloth that has made me the most gold recently, very close to Frostweave cloth.

Like always, pull all trash that you can find to get as much loot as possible use  Potions of Treasure Finding to get more loot. Also use the  Golden Fleece ,it's a good idea to equip it for this dungeon, as the mobs are high enough level to give experience. It will not affect your farming performance, and will give you more gold in return.

Tailoring Gold Guide- Making Gold with Imbued Frostweave ( For Both Cata & Mop )

Frostweave Cloth farming in World of Warcraft has always been a nice way to make some fast wow gold. It's needed in oh-too-many recipes, so there seems to always be a lack of it in the auction house. This makes it's price very high usually.

The best place to farm Frostweave cloth is just north from Icecrown Citadel, at least for cloth users. You can find many groups of Converted Heroes here and everyone has a chance of dropping up to 4 Frostweave Cloth. They are immune to movement impairing effects, stuns and what not. They also slow you down so it will be hard to pull more than 3 packs at once.

And tif you are a plate user then youshould  go to the Cathedral of Darkness instead, sitting next to Icecrown Citadel. Level 85 recommended, as they are all elites and if you pull one, 10 more will follow. They respawn super fast so you don't have to run around searching for next mobs.

Farming Cataclysm Heroics for Gold - Part 1 - The Vortex Pinnacle ( For Mop & cata Both but you will need a party of 3 at least in cata)

Vortex Pinnacle is the best instance for farming Volatile Air. It is an excellent way to make some gold if Volatile Air is expensive on your realm. This instance is profitable to farm both in normal and heroic mode.

Even if Volatile Air is worthless on your realm, it can be monopolized quite easily these days and you can turn it's price up .

Another reason to farm this instance is   Reins of the Drake of the North Wind flying mount which the second boss drops  by a 1%  chance. The mount also drops in normal mode, so you can reset the dungeon easily if you want to farm it.

To get to the instance portal, take the portal to Uldum from your capital city. The instance portal is on one of the floating towers up in the sky above the sea, south-east of the map.

Loot and solo tactics

You don't need any tactics here since this instance is a piece of cake also if you have decent gear you can also pull multiple Mobs at a time safely

Also drink    Potions of Treasure Finding to get even more loot.

it's a good idea to equip Golden Fleece for this dungeon, as the mobs are high enough level to give experience. It will not effect your farming performance, and you will be getting more gold in return.
